Jane Boyd calls upon the power of the metaphorical image
in her work. Time memory and consciousness have, for
some time, ruled the vocabulary of her visual world of
ideas. They are inseparable concepts forming the
foundation of her perception of reality. Reality,
observes Boyd, is constantly changing. Because we are
part of this all-encompassing continuity our perception
of reality is permeated with a perpetuating power that
is rooted in the flowing mechanisms of our memories.

Space, Light and Drawing are the basic elements of
Jane Boyd's work. The interrelations between these
elements are not linear like those which have been
consolidated in the history of creative art (i.e.: a
trajectory from light-space to drawing, as in the
transpositional or transfigurative work of the
traditional artist; or from drawing to light-space, as
in architecture or set design). Instead, they assume
different connotations from one moment to another, as
the boundaries between them tend to merge and the
interrelations produce unexpected configurations.

disegno allo spazio-luce, come nell'architettura o
nella scenografia), ma assumono connotazioni di volta
in volta diverse, dove i confini tendono a confondersi
e i rapporti possono trovare configurazioni
inaspettate.
